Near the start of Summer 2011, I had the great opportunity to sit down with “lo-fi legend” R. Stevie Moore. At the time, Moore was in the midst of his first tour in support of his latest record Advanced (as well as the hundreds of other albums he’s self-released over the years.) Between that time, Moore has toured the country backed by Brooklyn band Tropical Ooze, and had two successful Kickstarter campaigns to help fund is first international tour and complete the new album. Somewhere in the hustle and bustle, he made it to the Daytrotter studio to record this session.
