The Royalty
My new crush, The Royalty, just released a new video for “Bartender“, the opening track to the band’s wildly infectious debut album Lovers. This band is truly something else. The band members have an amazing ability to wrap vocalist Nicole Boudreau’s flirty and lovelorn lyrics with a fierce rock and roll sound that is both luscious and explosive at the same time. I also really enjoy that this video, the second from Lovers, comes back with the same layout: skip the plot and fancy editing, focus on the music. And with that spotlight set on the song and performance, listeners are quickly introduced to the song’s simple theme from the first line:
“I’m in love with the bartender…“
