Cast Spells, Native, Redbird, & You’re A Liar THIS THURSDAY!

I woke up to find this great video posted from Sargent House and it couldn’t have been in more perfect timing since Cast Spells will be playing in Bloomington THIS THURSDAY!

I’ve been pumped about booking this show for a while because I absolutely LOVE Dave Davison and Sargent House newbies Native. I really like what Sargent House is doing with their label. They are lining up some quality bands that really give the label a distinct sense of style and flavor.

Anyway, the last Live From Bloomington NOISE show is this week with a stellar lineup of Redbird, Cast Spells, NATIVE, and You’re A Liar. If you aren’t familiar with LFB or NOISE, Live From Bloomington is a programming committee that is part of Union Board, IU’s largest student programming organization on campus. LFB started a weekly concert series back in 2006 called NOISE, in which bands performed free all-ages concerts in the IU student union. The program has since grown and featured the likes of Rev. Peyton’s Big Damn Band, Maps & Atlases, Pattern Is Movement, and plenty of Btown favorites such as Prizzy Prizzy Please, Totally Michael, the Delicious, and more. Many Btown bands play their first shows on our stage and it’s great to see them grow from there. And FYI, I’m the director of Live From Bloomington, if I haven’t mentioned that before (surprise!).

Cast Spells was originally supposed to play NOISE back in March but our buddies over at Spirit of 68 Promotions trumped out us little guys with a Buskirk-Chumley show for Bonnie Prince Billy…Oh well, you win some, you lose some. Anyway, this week should be amazing. Now if only I can finish all of these projects and remember that I still need to start studying for the finals I have next week. This will also be my first time seeing Native, I have had bad luck most of the nights they’ve played basement shows here. This should be good.
