My dream is to be a town troubadour

Most who know me know that I am a Gilmore Girl. By that, I mean, Gilmore Girls is more than just my favorite show. I often feel like my life can easily mirror that of Lane Kim or Rory Gilmore. And the relationship between Lorelai and Rory reminds me far too much of my own relationship with my mother.

But one thing I REALLY love about the show is it’s constant references to music and pop culture, AND one of the most overlooked characters, the town troubadour. One of my favorite episodes is the last episode of season 6 “Partings”, the last episode that the original creators, Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino wrote. In the episode, the original town troubadour had been asked to go on tour with Neil Young, so in his absence, Stars Hollow was flooded with new aspiring troubadours. Amy literally placed most of her all-time favorite bands in the episode, including greats like Sonic Youth and Yo La Tengo, and the main music writer of the show, Sam Phillips.

Anyway, I found a YouTube clip of that episode, sticking together each of the troubadour scenes. Which troubadour is your favorite? Write it in the comment box!
