I hate being behind in news, but it seems my Chicago favorites Maps & Atlases signed to a new label early this month. The boys will now be represented by Seattle-based indie label Barsuk Records, home of some great artists like David Bazan (who’s playing in Bloomington soon), Nada Surf, Ra Ra Riot, Say Hi, Death Cab for Cutie, and Rilo Kiley. Sounds like a great opportunity for the band to position themselves to be seen and heard.
The band just finished a round of SXSW shows in Austin and is gearing up to set out on tour with Drink Up Buttercup and later with Frightened Rabbit. Barsuk has also announced that a full-length album is expected to be released this summer!
