New Song: “Fever” – Maps & Atlases

Watch out. Maps & Atlases just debuted a new single via Spin called “Fever” and it’s like no other M&A track you’ve ever heard. Layered strongly in electronic styles and sounds, “Fever” kind of reminds me of a Robyn-worthy dance tune mixed with late 80s pop. An exploration into a new sound for the band, the track equally showcases a clearer, more emotion-tinged vocal style from Dave Davison. While this track is a total change from Maps & Atlases’ previous styles, I’m still loyal to the talent, curiosity, and integrity of this band. From what I can tell, Beware & Be Grateful (due out April 17) is definitely going to be an album full of new colors.
