Have you been left feeling abandoned due to the break up of yet another musical project featuring Indianapolis musician David “Moose” Adamson?? While my stereo still nurses my BIGBIGcar addiction on occasion, the recent pre-album-release breakup of the latest Adamson project Jookabox left me feeling a little empty this spring. And of course I just had to keep wondering…what’s next?? It’s not like Adamson could just STOP making music, there has to be something in the works. Thankfully, I’m not the only one with that question, and even better NUVO’s Scott Shoger is already on top of the scoop. Continue reading “The “Moose” Hunt”
Great news for one of Bloomington’s favorite new bands of 2010, Memory Map. The band of talented rockers has recently signed with Indianapolis-based label, Joyful Noise Recordings. The label is also home to local bands Push-Pull, Racebannon, and the Delicious, so expect more great news to come from for Memory Map. As first order of duty, the label will be re-releasing the band’s debut album Holiday Band on 180gm Red or Black LP, CD, and digitally on May 10. The album will be available for pre-order as early as April 5. You can still listen to the album on the Memory Map bandcamp site, and if you still haven’t heard it by now, I highly recommend you give it a solid listen, the album is heavy on guitar (there are three in the band), but with equally explosive drums and vocals, and a strong creative energy overall.
Keep your eyes open for new news from Memory Map, and if you live in the Indianapolis area, check the band out live at Locals Only on March 17.

April 20 is right around the corner to bring us Prizzy Prizzy Please‘s new album Chroma Cannon, and I couldn’t be more excited. I know the Prizzies are located in “Chicago” now, but they will always be a Bloomington band to me, because this is where they came together and became the amazing band that they are today. I couldn’t be more excited for the new album, and I’m way glad they’ve decided to do an extended album release party here in Bloomington on April 24 @ The Bishop.
But while you are itching with anticipation for that, feast your ears and downloading delight on this! Continue reading “Live Session: Prizzy Prizzy Please on Banana Stand Media”
Now, MOKB already beat me to the punch on getting the word out, but the Prizzies have made excellent progress since relocating to Chicago. They’ve signed with Indy-based indie label, Joyful Noise Recordings, and put together a great batch of new songs for their next album, due in the spring.
